Privacy Policy

Last updated: 9 October 2026

This policy explains what personal information Dog Anxiety Solutions collects through doganxietysolutions.com, how we use it and the choices you have. It applies wherever you are in the world.

Who we are

Dog Anxiety Solutions runs this site and is responsible for the personal information described here. You can reach us at [email protected].

What we collect

Information you give us

  • Contact form: your name, email address, the topic you choose and your message. The form also records the date, time and page you sent it from. Messages are saved in our website’s database and sent to our inbox by email.
  • Comments: your name, email address, website (if you add one) and the comment itself. WordPress also records your IP address and browser type to help detect spam.
  • Emails: if you email us directly, we receive your email address and whatever you choose to tell us.

Information collected automatically

  • Analytics: we use Google Analytics (run by Google LLC in the United States) to understand how people use the site.
    • Before you choose, or if you decline: Google Analytics sets no cookies. It may still send Google a cookieless ping when a page loads. Google describes this as a measurement without cookies. It holds technical details your browser sends anyway, such as the time, your browser type and the page that linked to ours, plus non-identifying details such as your consent choice and a random number created for that page view. Google uses these pings to estimate overall use of the site through modeling. As with any request to Google’s servers, your IP address is sent with the ping.
    • If you accept analytics: Google Analytics also sets cookies with a random identifier, not your name or email address. It then collects details such as the pages you visit, how long you stay, the site that sent you, your device and browser type, and your approximate location (city or region).
    • Google says Google Analytics 4 doesn’t log or store IP addresses. See our Cookie Policy.
  • Search performance: Google Search Console gives us totals, such as which searches showed our pages and how often people clicked. It doesn’t tell us who you are and doesn’t set cookies on our site.
  • Server logs: our hosting provider records technical details of each visit, such as IP address, browser type, pages requested and the time.
  • Security: our security service, Wordfence (run by Defiant Inc. in the United States), processes IP addresses and request details to detect and block attacks.
  • Fonts: our fonts load from Google Fonts, so Google receives your IP address when your browser requests them.
  • Product images: some pages show product images loaded from Amazon’s servers, so Amazon receives your IP address when your browser requests them.

What we leave out

  • We don’t run advertising trackers, and we don’t use Google Analytics for advertising.
  • We don’t offer accounts, a newsletter or payments, so we don’t hold that kind of information.

How we use it

  • To run, secure and improve the site.
  • To understand which pages are useful, using analytics as described above.
  • To publish and moderate comments.
  • To reply when you contact us.
  • To meet legal obligations.

We don’t sell personal information, and we don’t use it to make automated decisions about you.

Legal bases (EEA, UK and Switzerland)

  • Legitimate interests: running and securing the site, replying to messages, and the cookieless measurement described above.
  • Consent: analytics cookies, and saving your details in comment cookies. You can withdraw consent at any time.
  • Legal obligation: where the law requires us to keep or disclose information.

Affiliate links and Amazon

  • When you click an affiliate link, you go to the retailer’s site. The retailer collects information under its own privacy notice.
  • Amazon sends us reports about orders and commissions. Those reports don’t tell us who you are.
  • If we display content served by Amazon or other third parties, they may serve content and advertisements, collect information directly from you, and place or recognise cookies on your browser.
  • See our Affiliate Disclosure and Cookie Policy.

Who we share information with

  • Service providers that help us run the site, such as our hosting, security and email delivery providers.
  • Google, which provides Google Analytics (if you agree to analytics cookies), Google Search Console and Google Fonts.
  • Authorities or other parties when the law requires it, or to protect our rights and the safety of others.
  • A new owner, if the site is ever sold or merged.

Transfers between countries

We’re based in Australia. Our service providers may process information in other countries, including the United States. Where the law requires it, we rely on safeguards such as standard contractual clauses.

How long we keep it

  • Contact form messages and emails are kept for as long as we need them to deal with your request.
  • Comments stay on the site until they’re deleted.
  • Google Analytics data is kept for the period set in our Google Analytics account, which is no more than 14 months. Reports made from it don’t identify you.
  • Server and security logs are kept for a limited period set by our providers.

Your rights

You can ask for a copy of your personal information, or ask us to correct or delete it, by emailing [email protected]. We may need to confirm who you are first, and we’ll respond within the time the law allows.

  • Australia. You have rights of access and correction under the Privacy Act 1988. If you’re unhappy with our response, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner.
  • EEA, UK and Switzerland. You have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict or object to the use of your information, to receive it in a portable format and to withdraw consent. You can also complain to your local data protection authority, such as the ICO in the UK.
  • United States. Depending on your state, including California, you may have the right to know, correct and delete your information, and to opt out of its sale or sharing. We don’t sell personal information or share it for targeted advertising, and we’ll treat you the same whether or not you use your rights.
  • Canada. You have rights of access and correction under PIPEDA, and you can complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.
  • Other countries. Many other places, including New Zealand, Brazil and South Africa, give people similar rights. We’ll honour any right that applies to you.

Children

The site is written for adults. We don’t knowingly collect personal information from children under 16. If you believe a child has given us information, email us and we’ll delete it.

Security

We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect personal information. No website can promise complete security.

Changes

We’ll update this policy when our practices change, and we’ll change the date at the top.
